Securing Your Networks – Rogue Access Point Detection
AirWave’s RAPIDS module automatically detects any unauthorized ‘rogue’ access points on your network through a combination of wired and wireless network scans. This ensures that you know about even those hard-to-detect rogues in remote offices, far outside the range of any of your own wireless access points or sensors.
When RAPIDS detects rogue devices wirelessly, it automatically calculates and displays the likely physical location of the unauthorized device.
The RAPIDS software assesses every device on your network and assigns it a score (from 1-5) reflecting the likelihood that the device is a rogue. When a likely rogue is identified, RAPIDS sends you a high priority alert containing critical information to enable you to locate and remove the device, including: switch and port data, MAC address (LAN and radio), IP address, SSID, channel, security settings, and more.
